He's here and he's BIG!!

Our newest, most precious family member has graced us with his entrance into the natural world!! (He's been in a safe haven for 9 months PLUS some. hehe)

Let me introduce you to:

William Joseph Gallaher

the third oldest of the Robert Gallaher family! We love you William and cannot wait to kiss your precious cheeks! Mama did a very good job getting this CHUNK into the world, he's almost 11 pounds! I cannot possibly imagine what it took to birth him, but I know it was worth every tear! Here he is!

{pretty, happy, funny, real}

 ~ Capturing the context of everyday life at the Doll House ~

{pretty}

I made my first grain free/sugar free/dairy free cake! It was amazing!! The blossoms are from our backyard. We love spring over here!

{happy}

Sibling love is the greatest

Pete's favorite toy!

Gianna was very happy to be dying eggs!

{funny}

Gianna wouldn't get off the blanket let alone let those piggies touch the earth! She was looking at a worm she put in her "shoe boot"!
And, well this is Pete. Enough said. :)

Playing tea with the cousins is always fun!

{real}

So our pets don't exactly compare to Bees but they sure are fun! Can you believe Gianna touched them? We've come a loooong way folks.

That's all for now, have a blessed day!

Easter 2012

Good Morning, Easter Bunny!
Auntie Bunny
Bobby Bunny

Joycey Bunny/Flower

Daddy Bunny
Mama Carlino, Curator, Master mind and Leader of the Easter party ( and most other fun stuff, too)

It is a big project coloring 18 dozen eggs for the Easter party.   We did pretty good this year.  We got all the kids washed up before they were permanently dyed.
Joyce in her Easter dress.
Bobby, so handsome, in his new suit.

This is the best picture the 2 of them have ever taken together.

Fran and Bob after the hunt.
Bobby with his pinata loot and colored eggs.  He was so devastated he could only get 4 eggs. So he ran around finding them for other kids.

We went down to Foothill Ranch to celebrate Easter after naps on Sunday.   It was the perfect day to have Risen :) It was a potluck dinner complete with all day horse shoe playing and volley ball.  Later in the afternoon there were gunny sack races, relay races, egg tosses, kids egg hunt and a pinata. Lots of fun for all!

Bobby taking a swing at the Pinata.  Joyce wanted nothing to do with it.
Joyce with her Easter eggs.  Everyone got a play Easter outfit that they wore to the party.  Mostly because I saw this one for Joyce and wanted to be fair for all :-)

Agnes and Fran watching all the games in the big arena.
Bobby's prize of the day was the pinata ear.

This is where Joyce spent a lot of her time.  That is her in the pink in the back by the statue.
Genevieve was the MC of the games and Bobby was her shadow.
Me in all my past due glory.  I was pretty much here all day . the perfect spot to watch all the activity.  Looking through these pictures I need to remember to take more pictures of myself.

Making Boys Busy with Bees!

Opening the package of bees(Edwards)
Bee Day: On March 23rd and 24th, the boys and Mom installed two bee hives in the backyard.

Mom even bought cool jackets to wear while doing inspections on the hive. I can't wait to try one on!

The bee man(John) lives down the street, he comes over when needed to help inspect the beehives. He helped the boys and Mom install the nucleus hive.

Dumping the bees out of the box
The building of the beehives and frames are done in the garage by Edward and Thomas with Mom(her encouragement) and power tools. Mom painted them!

Since January the boys and Mom have been taking the bee keeping class, they now have a certificate of completion. Mom would love to become certified as an official bee keeper!

Mission accomplished: Edward's bees installed!

 "I think that would be so cool!" -Mom

She wants to raise a whole bee "colony" since she has already almost finished raising her children "colony"!

It sounds really complicated to actually get the certification and learn the whole bee keeping world!

It has left Mom in awe over God's creation, she says she doesn't know how you can study bees and not believe in God, the way bees work is so intense and intricate. Even the Pope mentioned bees in his Easter sermon this year. There is one Saint who talks a lot about bees in one of his spiritual books, I can't remember who right now.

Frame loaded with bees, brood(the white cap cells where the babies grow), necter, honey(in the right hand corner) and bee bread(what they feed the larvae)
The name of Mom's bee company is officially "Abbee's Honey", after St. Abigail, one of the patron saint of bee keepers.

Thomas inspecting(very intensely) the bees. He is looking for the queen bee!
The beehive with ten frames, approximately 15-20 thousand bees in this one box. This beehive was purchased as a nucleus(miniture hive with the bees already on the foundation with drawn comb). Edwards was purchased as a box of loose bees and one caged queen bee.

It's a lot to learn, it's a lot of work, it's a lot of fun!

Instilling a Love for Life . . .

Something that I will be eternally grateful for is my love for life. From the very beginning Mom and Dad would haul us all down to the abortion clinic in Bakersfield and we would protest, but most importantly pray.  We attended lots of pro-life conferences, dinners, walks and chains. It simply was a part of our life. If Mom and Dad did not do this I would have never gone on Crossroads and met Cyril! Mom sent me these pictures and I had to share because it brought back so many memories. Thank you Mom and Dad for instilling in all of us a deep respect and love for human life.

A 4 week old baby

I can see Thomas, Dad, Edward and Kevin. I think Stephen is the one with a sign covering his head.

It's great to see Priest and Religious at the rally

Today Is Your Lucky Day!

Today on your birthday
consider your luck.
You could have been born
as a pig, cow, or duck.

You could have been born
crying oink, quack, or moo
You're lucky you didn't
end up in the zoo!

Happy Birthday Elise! We love you!

(My apologies for not recognizing the March birthdays in the family, from here on out I plan to honor everyone on their birthdays!)
