And now today!!!
Pete is making sure to test the soil. It's good he thinks. :) |
You would have never guessed the earth was blanketed in white snow just hours before! We are surely enjoying the sunshine, it hasn't been out for at least a week. :) Its also the beginning of yard sale season, my favorite! We picked up this little treasure today:
An old book about herbs and flowers. The illustrations are amazing. |
I had to share a little poem by Thomas Nashe for you all. It's very appropriate :) (From the 1600's)
Spring, the sweet spring, is the year’s pleasant king,
Then blooms each thing, then maids dance in a ring,
Cold doth not sting, the pretty birds do sing:
Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
The palm and may make country houses gay,
Lambs frisk and play, the shepherds pipe all day,
And we hear aye birds tune this merry lay:
Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
The fields breathe sweet, the daisies kiss our feet,
Young lovers meet, old wives a-sunning sit,
In every street these tunes our ears do greet:
Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to witta-woo!
